At that point in life, I didn't know what I was getting into. The management trainees role gave me an idea of the different departments, but I was greatly influenced by my leaders feedback on the different areas. Working in a restaurant was considered extremely tough as we're required to put in long hours. This made me think of focusing on other areas; however, I would suggest that one should try and find out if hospitality suits you and not judge by the long hours. Working in a restaurant requires an interest in food and service. If you enjoy these two, you might just find hospitality is the career for you. You never know, you may end up owning your own restaurant one day.
