Restaurant management, trust your gut

When taking on first management position you’ll find that a lot of people will think they the ‘best’ advice for you, some will suddenly act as prophets sharing the key to success and others telling you anecdotal stories from ‘way back when’.

It’s hard to know what really is good advice. Who to listen to and who to trust. And there is only one answer, and that’s you. You know yourself and what got you to this stage. Have confidence in yourself and integrity in what you stand for as a manager and as a hospitality worker, with that you cannot fail.

You got yourself to management.

You worked hard and it has shown.

You know your own strengths and weaknesses.

You are the key to your own success.

Believe in yourself and trust your gut.
