Encouraging staff to form bonds in and outside of work creates a team atmosphere and can assist with staff retention. Also, owners and management that are easily approachable and engaged in individuals lives in and outside of work helps create a team environment.
Actively supporting staff with healthcare and financial management issues where practical can help sustain a loyal employee relationship. Staff need to feel they are valued and treated fairly and when this environment is created in a workplace the tendency to “move on” is reduced dramatically.
A supportive environment will help keep staff retention low
